MDU and SDU solutions

Market leading connectivity solutions for FTTP networks

Prysmian are at the forefront when it comes to designing and developing next-generation products specifically for FTTP networks, whether it is for multi or single dwellings. Our flexible MDU solution allows the system to be adjusted to cater for various complexities that are faced when deploying a fibre network within an MDU.

VertiCasa

The VertiCasa system provides a fast and flexible means of connecting users in a Multi Dwelling Unit (MDU). The system features a new concept in optical cable construction allowing remarkably easy fibre access and break-out, reducing the demand for skilled labour and installation time and cost.

Comprising of a main riser cable of up to 96 fibres , the system can be branched directly to individual subscribers on different floors of the MDU without the need for the splicing of fibre within the riser of the building.

VertiCasa Products

The VertiCasa system comprises all supporting accessories and connectivity products necessary to complete the full installation from main fibre distribution point, generally in the basement of the MDU, through to the end user. These products are not only for use with VertiCasa and can be utilised individually for other applications.

The Verticasa pre-spliced Riser solution combines a 72 fibre Verticasa cable and Prysmian Connectivity LDWB. It combines these items by the fusion splicing of 64 fibres of the Verticasa cable to the outputs of two 1:32 splitters mounted inside the LDWB.

The Medium Distribution Wall Box is a wall mounted splice box used for internal and external applications. The box can be used in the basement as a building entry point or to distribute fibres around the building.

The Medium Termination Wall Box (MTWB) is a wall mounted box that can house up to 16 SC adapters. The box is suitable for internal and external applications. It can be used in the basement or to terminate customer connections.

The Riser Box Multi Tray (RBMT) is designed for use within high rise buildings. The box is ideally situated at each floor of a building and can function as a demarcation point.

The PBI-8SC is similar in design to the RBMT with the additional functionality of up to 8 SC adapters.

The Verticasa Breakout Unit – 1 Port is typically used in MDUs to breakout and distribute the fibres from an in-line Verticasa cable into a drop tube for routing to a customer premise.

Similarly to the Verticasa Breakout Unit – 1 Port, the 4 Port version is typically used in multi dwelling units to breakout and distribute the fibres. However, up to 4 drop tubes can be accommodated.

The PryCube XS indoor cable kit is used as part of FTTH for residential housing. This kit consists of an interior connection cable connectorized and integrated into a termination box. It allows a simple installation by unwinding and connection to a demarcation point.
