Brentford FC

Brentford Football Club, London

When Brentford FC set out with the goal of being promoted into the UK Premier League the club began the major reinvestment in a new stadium they would need to compete at that level. Located just one mile from Kew Gardens in West London the Brentford Community Stadium is shared with London Irish Rugby Club and represented a huge investment in the infrastructure of the area.

The main electrical contractor NG Bailey chose to work with Draka UC Connect for the data and PoE element of the build. There were some challenging aspects for Draka to work through:

  • The architect specified that the underside of the stadium tiers were painted black including all of the cabling – requiring Draka to specify the paint type that could be used and maintain our warranty.

  • There were some long cabling runs required in excess of 100 metres – Draka specified the use of Cat 7 S/FTP which we included as 110 metre runs in the Application Assurance warranty.

  • The multiple cameras were PoE powered and we worked with NG Bailey to understand the cable runs to ensure the system was fully warranted.
